Here we are at the Southern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail — Springer Mountain, Georgia. Fred’s Navy buddy Perry and his wife Dee Dee drove us up here this morning – March 25th – not coincidentally, Fred’s 62nd birthday. We all hiked up to the top of the mountain where Fred – er, Santiago – signed in to make his thru-hike official. With this ritual complete, we said our goodbyes at the parking lot and sent Santiago off!

Now more than ever, every now and then we all need to simply quiet our minds, and just breathe. #justbreathe #bewell ...
